Veldt Marketplace Terms

Operated by MEAI (Middle East Applied Intelligence). These terms apply whenever you browse, list, inquire, or message on the Veldt marketplace, and are part of the Veldt Terms of Service.
1. Veldt is a venue only
•
Veldt lets sellers post listings and lets buyers contact sellers through inquiry threads. That is all it does.
•
No payments, no escrow. Veldt processes no payments, holds no funds, provides no escrow, delivery, insurance, or buyer/seller protection. If a sale happens, it happens entirely outside Veldt.
•
Transactions are strictly between buyer and seller, at their own risk. MEAI is not a party to, and takes no responsibility for, any transaction, the condition or legality of items, the truth of listings, or the conduct of buyers or sellers.
•
Exercise normal caution: meet in safe public places, inspect before paying, and be alert to fraud.
2. Listings
•
You may only list items you own and are legally allowed to sell.
•
Listings must be accurate. Veldt can draft listing text for you with AI — you are responsible for checking and correcting it before publishing.
•
Prices are set by sellers. Veldt gives no valuation guarantees.
3. Prohibited items
Enforced automatically today: firearms. The Veldt catalogue marks the firearm category (and every sub-category under it) as banned from the marketplace, and the system blocks any attempt to list such an item at the database level. This enforced ban list is maintained in Veldt's category registry and can be extended at any time without notice — any category we flag becomes unlistable, including all its sub-categories.
Prohibited by policy (removed when found, whether or not the automatic block caught them):
•
weapons of any kind, ammunition, and weapon parts;
•
ivory, rhino horn, and any part or product of protected or CITES-listed wildlife traded without the required lawful permits;
•
live protected or endangered species offered without the required permits;
•
stolen goods, counterfeit goods;
•
drugs, medicines, and controlled substances;
•
recalled or hazardous products;
•
anything whose sale is illegal in the seller's or buyer's jurisdiction.
4. Regulated goods — seller's responsibility
Some items are legal to own and sell only with permits — notably falcons and other CITES-listed species, and live animals generally (registration certificates, CITES documentation, possession/transport permits, health certificates, and local emirate rules).

The seller is solely responsible for holding, and transferring where required, every permit and document the law requires — before listing and through completion of any sale.

Veldt does not verify permits and listing on Veldt is not evidence of legality.
•
Buyers of regulated goods are equally responsible for ensuring they may lawfully acquire and keep them.
5. Conduct in inquiries and messages
Use inquiry threads for genuine buying and selling. No harassment, spam, off-platform payment scams, or attempts to trade prohibited items privately after a listing was blocked or removed.
6. MEAI's rights
We may remove any listing, close any thread, restrict marketplace access, or suspend accounts — at our discretion, with or without notice — including for suspected breach of these terms, legal risk, or user-safety concerns. We may preserve and share information with authorities where the law requires.
7. No liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, MEAI has no liability for any loss arising from marketplace use, including failed or disputed transactions, misdescribed items, unlawful items, or the acts of any buyer or seller. The Terms of Service liability provisions apply.
