The basics
What is Veldt?
Veldt turns your camera into a field guide. Point it at almost anything you care about — a plant, a bird, a fish, a piece of gear, a vintage find — and Veldt names it in seconds and keeps it in your field: a living record of everything you raise, catch, grow, collect, and make.
What can I identify?
Living things and objects across just about any hobby — gardening, fishing, birds, aquariums, farm animals, vintage cars, and plenty beyond. If you can photograph it, Veldt will try to name it: species, breed, or make.
What is a “field”?
Your field is everything you have kept, in one place — grouped by hobby, not buried in folders. Every photo you pin becomes part of a living inventory that grows with you, each item with its own history.
Is Veldt free?
Yes. Veldt is free for every member — the whole app, whatever your field. No card, no trial clock. As we build new tools, members get them first, and nothing you log is ever taken away.
Do I need an account to look around?
No. You can browse the marketplace as a guest, no account needed. You will want a free account to start your own field, sell, save listings, or message a seller.
Using Veldt
Can I ask Veldt questions?
Yes — Ask Veldt is a built-in assistant. Ask about your own field (“when did I last restring my racket?”), get care and how-to advice, find where to buy something, or ask where to do something nearby. It answers from your records and from what it knows, and links its sources when it looks something up.
Can I log things by voice?
Yes. Say it the way you would say it — “fed the cows this morning,” “won 6-3 against Khalid” — and Veldt turns it into a tidy, dated entry.
Can Veldt remind me to do things?
Yes. Ask in plain words — “remind me to water the rose on Friday” — and it schedules a reminder, linked to the right thing in your field.
Is the identification always right?
No — and this matters. Veldt’s identifications are a helpful starting point, not a guarantee. Never rely on them for anything involving safety, health, or whether something is safe to eat. Look-alike species are a known limitation; when it counts, confirm with an expert.
Does Veldt work in Arabic?
Veldt is built with Arabic and right-to-left support in mind, and we are expanding Arabic coverage as we go.
The marketplace
What is the marketplace?
A place for collectors and hobbyists to buy and sell — gear, finds, and more — listed by real people straight from their fields. When something is yours to sell, Veldt even drafts the listing for you.
Do I need an account to browse it?
No — browsing is open to everyone. You will need a free account to sell, save listings, or contact a seller.
How do payments work?
Veldt is a venue that connects buyers and sellers — it does not process payments or hold funds. Any transaction is arranged directly between the buyer and the seller, at their own arrangement and risk.
What can’t I sell?
Anything illegal or dangerous — firearms, protected or endangered wildlife and animal products, and anything that requires a permit you do not hold (for example, regulated live animals). Sellers are responsible for the legality of what they list, and Veldt may remove any listing.
How do I report a listing or message?
Every listing and conversation has a report option, and you can block another user. Reports go to our moderation team, and we can remove listings, close threads, and suspend accounts.
Accounts, privacy & data
How do I sign in?
With your email or with Google. More options are on the way.
Where do my photos and voice notes go?
To identify what you capture and to power the assistant, your photos, voice recordings, and questions are processed by AI services, including Google’s Gemini and specialist identification engines. Full detail is in our Privacy Policy.
Is my field private?
Your field is yours. The assistant only ever reads your data, never anyone else’s. Marketplace listings are, of course, public once you publish them.
Can I delete my account and everything in it?
Yes. You can delete your account from the app at any time — it permanently removes your field, entries, photos, listings, and messages.
How old do I have to be?
You must be at least 18 to use Veldt.
